A special thank you goes out to Carole Ellis. Carole has taken over the Social Committee and has many good things planned for the fall. We hope everyone will come out and enjoy some good times with their neighbors.
Country Walk Social Calendar
As Fall moves in and the school year gets underway, we have a lot of things going on in Country Walk. Below, we’ve listed some of the most important dates, but please keep an eye on your email for additional updates and events!
September 10: 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Cheese, grapes and enology with your neighbors! Come by the Country Walk community room to meet and greet old friends and new. We’ll have cheese, grapes, seasonal snacks, soda and lots of old friends and new. If you enjoy wine, bring a bottle of your own along with you! Our very own resident sommelier will be giving a short session on wine appreciation toward the end of the evening for interested parties. We hope to see all residents 21 and over there!
*Drawing for special basket and important new-resident information available.
September 25: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Country Walk garage sale! Please send an email to carole.j.ellis@gmail.com as soon as possible if you plan to participate. We will provide maps and basic summaries of items for sale so that your buyers do not miss out on your one-of-a-kind treasures.
October 29: 7:00 PM
Screen on the Green! We’ll watch a creepy (but not too creepy) movie and enjoy popcorn and other fall-themed activities on the lawn. In the event of rain, the festival will be moved to the pavilion. More details TBA closer to date.
November 20: time TBA
Country Walk Mistletoe Market! Do you sell Avon, Tupperware or other products? Make your own beautiful craft items? Bake delicious pies or create fabulous candies? Have another unique talent, product or service for sale? If so, then participate in Country Walk’s Mistletoe Market, where our own residents will gather in the community room and pavilion to get a head-start on Christmas and enjoy cocoa or cider, cookies and each other’s company. Please email carole.j.ellis@gmail.com if you wish to be a vendor.
December 10: 7:00 PM-9:00 PM
Pictures with Santa and a unique Polar Express experience. Bring your camera and your kids for a wonderful time with jolly old Saint Nick and his favorite North Pole conductor. More details TBA closer to time.
We are currently working on a few other holiday events and will announce the details as soon as they are finalized. Thanks, and have a great September!!!!

February 20th was the gathering for the Chili Cook-Off. Many tasters arrived, a select few members of the Board showed up and the three judges ranged in age from 16 to 43! As the fire crackled in the fireplace and the music played the judges tasted chilli and reached a unanimous decision. A $50 gift-card to Chili’s restaurant was awarded to First Place, a gift basket stuffed with decorative kitchen towels, chilli bowls & kitchen.

It was a chilly fall afternoon in Country Walk as many ghosts, punk rockers, and goblins participated in the Fall Festival on Saturday, October 17th. The children won prizes as they played build a mummy, loop the skeleton and corn toss. Madison Haney, dressed as Raggedy Ann took the trophy for best costume. Adults and children alike participated in the cake walk and departed with some hauntingly scrumptious desserts! The social committee would like to graciously thank everyone that attended and all who slaved away in the kitchen baking all the delicious desserts!

Teen Lockin Party

Friday nights LOCK-IN (July 31st) was a youthful event! The younger Country Walk kiddos enjoyed making smores, indulging on chocolate and roasting marshmallows fireside. At 8 p.m. the younger children were sent on their way and the festivities began for the teens. Country Walk teens competed in relay races, tug of war and won some grand prizes including cash with the many raffles drawn. The junk food was in abundance, although the sugar wore off quickly with the teens socializing in the pool. They were most pleased there when their wasn't a lifeguard yelling "Adult Swim!" A pat on the back to all parents who allowed their children to attend, the teens were all very courteous and respectful. Many thanks to the Edmundston Family and Denise Haney for their generous donation of prizes.

The cow bells were ringing in Country Walk on Saturday Night at the Annual Adult Pool Party! We dined on a delicious spread of tasty chicken wings, homemade macaroni and cheese, shrimp and creamy banana pudding just to name a few. More than sixty of Country Walks finest brought cold cocktails and tasty covered dishes. Nichole Steward, owner of “Ambient Cuisine” catering, provided the mouth watering salmon quesadillas.

The hilarious entertainment was side splitting as the adults competed for prizes; playing corn hole, relay races and many games of volleyball under the stars. More than an ego was bruised with games of tug of war when the losers ended up wet in the water! Todd and Nikki King of Country Walk Drive, took home the “naughty basket” winning the “How well do you know your mate?” game. Homeowners walked away smiling with armloads of fabulous prizes including lottery tickets, poolside cocktail glasses and beach towels. It was a childless night in Country Walk filled with laughter, food, cocktails and prizes. This adult pool party was certainly one to keep the neighbors talking!
4th July Parade
Bradford Lane was a sea of red, white and blue as 54 contestants lined the street for the Country Walk annual Fourth of July parade! Families paraded down Country Walk Drive to the tunes of Born in the USA and Yankee Doodle. The contestants dined on scrumptious frozen popsicles at the pavillion where they were judged for best decor and awarded fantastic prizes. Winners were: John Jardin, Andrew Jardin, Camryn Stokely, Alyssia Fabrizio and the most patriotic dog award went to "Maddux" Raaum. All ages sported red fire hats as the massive fire truck zoomed into Country Walk with lights flashing and sirens blaring. The smiling children got to explore the fire truck and later dined on pizza and coca cola poolside. It was a delightful event! Many thanks to all the volunteers and participants. We can hardly wait for next year!
